Amy Powell is a recognized industry leader and pioneer in the next generation of digital marketing & content creation. As an entrepreneur and founder of multiple digital, film and television companies, her expertise spans across digital marketing, story-telling, brand-building, content creation and business intelligence.

As one of the original leaders of the Sony Pictures digital marketing team, Powell forged the studio’s first strategic alliance with Yahoo! launching the Spider-Man franchise on the internet. Powell continued to break traditional models and pave a path for the future when she created the innovative viral marketing campaign “Demand It” for the film Paranormal Activity which became one of the most successful horror film franchises of all time.

Powell continued to bridge the worlds of technology, content and marketing when she launched Yahoo!’s first web series Burning Love from Ben Stiller and won multiple Webby Awards. Continuing to break the mold, Powell launched Insurge Pictures the first low-budget, high-return film label at Paramount Pictures, focused on using data science and technology to create content. Powell looked to social media to inspire the Justin Bieber documentary “Never Say Never” which was the first movie to integrate fans’ user generated content into both the movie itself as well as the marketing campaign; the result was the highest grossing music documentary of all time.

In 2013, Powell founded Paramount Television, reviving the defunct television production division of Paramount Pictures, which she successfully launched from the ground-up to focus on the technological expansion of the streaming services, making it a vigorous business and the studio’s growth engine.
